The simplicity/complexity of this piece is compelling. It is rich with invitation, taking me away from my computer, away from my desk, away from this little second-floor study where I sit into sensory memories and experiences, most of which I cannot name and have no need to. The painting asks me to do no more than be with the feelings it evokes, including a quiet/strong feeling of tapping into the central essence of being alive.
What a lovely comment! After I finished this and looked at it from a distance, it brought up a memory of my first trip in an airplane and the clouds surrounding the plane with blue sky periodically viewed beyond.
