Teal, Grey and Black under painting. After that dried, Lt. Green, Black, White and Red were painted over the top mostly with a palette knife. I am becoming very fond of my palette knives!
Oh my gosh, we kept walking through the snow on the mostly obscured path and look where we've come! This painting is striking, Karolyn! It is at once total abstraction and evocative/nostalgic, putting me outdoors on snowshoes, walking across a field and coming upon a little shed at the edge of woods. My immediate internal title for this piece was Little Cabin in the Wood, Little Man by the Window Stood.
I love your title, Dotty! My working title has been "Ice Shanty". After I painted this I witnessed some ice shacks on a lake near where I live. There was quite a bit of water on the lake at that time which I then related to the dark area at the top.
You do well with palette knives, congrats :)
ReplyDeleteThank you Sheila! I never used them much before this challenge.
ReplyDeleteVery dynamic!! Love that little red accent!
ReplyDeleteThank you Carol. Red is one of my favorite colors!
