Preparing for an exhibit...

My husband and I returned late yesterday afternoon from a wonderful week in Door County, WI. The weather was lovely and we saw so many awesome plein air paintings that were painted as part of the Door County Plein Air Festival

Today its back to reality!
I will be the featured artist at Raven's Wish Gallery in Janesville, WI in Sept. 2017. My delivery date is August 23rd!! This afternoon I have been taking inventory of finished paintings, paintings that need to be finished, paintings that need a title, paintings that need a wire, paintings that need a photo taken, ....and on and on and on. I now have a good idea of what I need to accomplish; the biggest task will be to finish 3 medium size and 3 very small paintings in the next 2 weeks. Stay tuned and wish me luck!

"Homage to Dandelion" 36 x 36" Acrylic on gallery wrapped canvas.
This is my largest abstract to date.
And, yes there is a bit of Crayola Dandelion Crayon in the composition.

  1. Oh for Pete's sake! I just wrote a comment and lost it : (

Karolyn, long time no see. It is SUCH a gift to see your art again! Homage to Dandelion offers a compelling juxtaposition of simplicity/complexity. It really draws me in. Congrats on being selected to be the featured September artist at Raven's Wish Gallery. Sounds like you'll have plenty to keep you busy between now and delivery date. All best wishes!

    1. Great to hear from you Dotty! I love reading your positive comments. I have been following your blog, enjoying your art and must tell you I admire your dedication to posting on such a regular basis. It is hard for me to do; perhaps I am too much of an introvert. Keep up the great art making and the awesome blog posts. I truly enjoy them!

  2. Karolyn, thanks for letting me know you've been following my blog, enjoying my art, and admiring my dedication to posting regularly. Amusingly, I'm a dyed-in-the-wool introvert; just sayin'! Posting faithfully does take commitment, though. Happily, for me, writing is another creative outlet, and it's become an integral part of my painting process. I look forward to seeing more posts from you! Keep 'em coming!
